Founders

Carlos and Pamela are friends and political family who decided to create this wonderful adventure that is called Yanawara.

Based in La Paz, Carlos is a Project Manager with more than 8 years of experience in the design, administration, monitoring and evaluation of projects, both for international cooperation and for private companies.

With a Master in International Management, he participated in the implementation of numerous Inclusive Businesses together with the Dutch Development Cooperation Service, SNV Bolivia. These businesses, which link “anchor” companies to communities at the base of the pyramid, with the objective of generating mutual benefits and profits, allowed him to accumulate experience in the development and support for the sustainability of social enterprises.

Pamela is Bolivian and lives in New York. From a young age she had interest in the communities in Bolivia after making trips to them. Years later she obtained a Master in Business Administration and focused her professional development on social innovation where she worked on sustainable development projects involving artisans from Bolivia and the world. From then on, her passion and commitment to the artisan industry guided her to continue her training in Sustainability in the Fashion Industry in the United States and to work / collaborate in organizations and artisan companies until she come up with the decision to create Yanawara.
