Bolivian women highlight

This month we want to highlight the story of a Bolivian woman who, without stopping doing what she loves and being herself, has broken schemes and has worked very hard to achieve her life goals. Today we want you to meet Ana Lia Gonzales Magueño - also known as Lita, a woman who was born and grew up in the city of El Alto - Bolivia, located at 4060 meters above sea level and very close to the highest mountains in the region. Investing in women is investing in the community

The truth is that investing in projects that aim to strengthen women's economy is to invest in families, therefore, in the entire community, and not only because said economic strengthening will allow a family to break cycles of poverty and violence, but also because women are organizing themselves into production and development networks that identify them as a whole and allow them to share the same criteria of struggle and resistance against discrimination and inequality, in time to offer them opportunities of a new life and also to their families. This gives a deep sense of hope for the future, because it is a response to the need to find solutions to current problems such as the increase in violence, corruption, climate change, armed conflicts, migratory and refugee crises, lack of employment, scarcity of water and basic services, and so many etcetera that take away people's peace. The answer to all this is women: women and environment, women and production networks, women and peace, women and politics, women in business, women artisan development, women leading real changes.

Discover Bolivia's Unique Places

Today I am going to tell you a little about Bolivia. As you know, Bolivia is located in the heart of South America and is mainly known for the Lake Titicaca and the great Uyuni Salt Flats. They are undoubtedly very beautiful places, but they are not the only attractions in our country. What you might not know about Bolivia, is that it is a super diverse country and an ideal place for those who are looking for an adventure in the middle of a natural paradise rich in culture and history as well. When all this coronavirus crisis passes and people can travel again, there will be a greater tendency to make more sustainable tourism trips, visiting outdoors, avoiding crowded destinations and seeking to minimize impacts on the environment and local cultures, exactly what Bolivia offers to the world.
