Size 31 x 47 inches

Material: 100% baby alpaca

Handmade in Bolivia by Allpaqa

Phuyu means cloud in Quechua lenguage.

Our alpaca pieces are made with sustainable alpaca wool directly sourced by the comunities in the Highlands of Bolivia.

The making of each blanket starts with the rub process of the fiber, this will allow the fibrils to remain compact, facilitating the tissue. Following by the weaving, for this type of fiber, due to the delicacy and thickness, the artisans only use their hands and a flat surface on which the blanket is spread, once the weaving is completed, the freezing process of the blanket takes between 24 to 48 hours, this will allow the fibers to be much more stabilized to finally perfect details with the help of a felt needle. The manufacture of each blanket takes an approximate 7 days.

Hand-washing is the gentlest method of cleaning an Alpaca garment, and will add years to the life of your Alpaca clothing.

Follow these care instructions to extend the life of your alpaca garment and this will provide you years of luxurious comfort and wear.

  1. Gently wash in cold / warm water with a mild soap (mild shampoo will do) and thoroughly rinse in water of the same temperature. Special care must be taken as wet Alpaca fabric can weaken and stretch out of shape. Never wring or twist. Gently press excess water from garment.
  2. While supporting the weight of the wet garment lay it on a dry towel. Ease the garment back into shape and roll up in the towel. Press to remove excess water and repeat this step with a second towel.
  3. On a flat surface lay the sweater on a fresh, dry towel or paper until thoroughly air dried.
  4. Once your Alpaca garment is dry you will want to fold it carefully, avoiding a center crease. Never hang an Alpaca sweater as it will stretch the garment out of shape. Lay flat in a drawer or on a closet shelf.
